WordPress Site
Well, I have my new web site up and running. Some final tweaking to do, but essentially it is finally done. An interesting transition from an html site to a one dependent on the WordPress Blog structure. The advantage of using WordPress is that there are so many templates available either for free or for a nominal price. I ended up using a template from Viva Themes to give me a jump start on the the process.
Then there comes the various technology hurdles of figuring out how to post various image and video components to ones blog. While I was familiar and used Slide Show Pro for my html and look around for other products which could provide a good combination of the blog comment and visual representation of images. In the search, I found a number of quality page designs, many of which snugged into Lightroom and allowed easy export as a web page. The trouble was, I didn’t want a web page, I just wanted to Flash element within a WordPress page. So after all to those trials and tribulations, I ended up back with Slide Show Pro and the use of their Director product. Virtually all of the slide and video elements are presented with Slide Show Pro’s SlidePress plugin.
Finally, I am learning about the other creative ways to present information within this blog format; the various plugin’s and widgets that help in improving content and presentation. But now the work is in producing content; pictures and documents, the good stuff of photography.
